  • Political consultants act as public relations specialists, salespeople and managers. By using many forms of marketing-suitable media, including advertising and press releases, the general goal of political consultants is to make voters aware of their candidates’ party platform.

Leads analysis of proposed legislative actions, determines the potential impact on the organization and develops appropriate responses.

  • An organized effort which seeks to influence the decision-making progress within a specific group or political body. Political campaigns for office are only one way to accomplish policy change. Organizing grassroots efforts to support any cause by way of popular community support, media influence, and monetary contributions to attain a goal can be considered a campaign.

  • A campaign managers role is to coordinate a political campaign‘s operations such as fundraising, advertising, polling, getting out the vote (with direct contact to the public), and other activities supporting the effort, directly.

  • Professional lobbyists are people whose business is trying to influence legislation, regulation, or other government decisions, actions, or policies on behalf of a group or individual who hires them. Individuals and nonprofit organizations can also lobby as an act of volunteering or as a small part of their normal job.

  • The development of policies through consultation to suggest the best course of action to obtain a strategic goal, while helping companies or special interests respond to policy decisions on the local, state and federal level which favor their particular needs.
